Easy-to-use development boards for evaluation and development of USB Type-C – Allows rapid exploration of Lattice’s FPGA based USB Type-C solutions that address the needs of markets such as chargers, smartphones, tablets, notebooks and docks.
Rapid prototyping of user functions – The development boards allow the implementation of Up Stream Facing Ports (UFPs) Down Stream Facing Ports (DFPs) and Dual Role Ports (DRPs) using the Cable Configuration (CC) capability of Type-C. On board power circuitry allows exploration of the multiple voltage supplies and Alternate modes (including Display Port) that is enabled by the Power Delivery (PD) protocol.
Extensive Connectivity and Configuration – In addition to USB Type-C, the boards have USB 3.0 and DP Source and Sink connectors to provide high speed data sources and sinks for the Type-C cable. A mini USB cable allows programming of the FPGA with the Lattice Diamond Programmer and can be also used to enable a UART monitor of the Type-C status.
